Cambridge United has formed a new Women’s Football Board to help drive forward and full integrate the Women's Team into the Club...
Jenny Horsfield will Chair the Board, which is comprised of two other Club Directors - Graham Daniels and Christoph Loch - in addition to former Women’s Team Chair Vicky Hoover and Club stalwart Liz Pamplin.
CEO Alex Tunbridge and Sporting Director Ben Strang will hold ex officio positions.
The structural changes - which will fully tie the Women’s Team into the Football Club – will help increase the profile of the Women’s Team with a view to hosting more fixtures at the Abbey Stadium next season and beyond.
Jenny Horsfield said, “It is an exciting time for Women’s and Girl’s football both across the country and here at Cambridge United.
“I am delighted with the formation of this new Board which features a terrific blend of fresh faces and industry experience with those who have been at the heart of Cambridge United Women for many years.
“The levels of professionalism within the Club has increased over recent years and with this new Board in place, we believe that the Women’s Team will only continue to grow and improve.
“Women’s and Girl’s football has a huge impact in the community and we very much want to ensure that Cambridge United is at the forefront of innovation and inspiration to local Girls and Women who love the game.”
The new Women’s Football Board will feed directly into the Cambridge United Board and the first meeting between members will take place on Monday 6th June.
