Adam May has signed a new contract with Cambridge United…
The 24-year-old midfielder is approaching 100 games for the Club since joining from Portsmouth in September 2020, establishing himself as a key member of Mark Bonner’s squad.
His 50 appearances and six goals this past season represented career highs for May, who has now committed his future to the U’s by signing a new three-year deal.
“I am absolutely delighted,” May said. “I feel at home here and I am the happiest I have been in my career. It has been a brilliant two years and I am looking forward to trying to make the next three years just as good if not better.”
Mark Bonner said, “Adam’s game has developed in his time with us and his ability to play in different systems and roles in midfield gives us flexibility and competitiveness. He has been robust and improved with the experience, contributing greatly to two successful seasons.
“He contributes well to our attacking play and we hope to see more of this over the next few seasons. Adam carries a goal threat and has scored some key ones for us so far. I believe the best is yet to come for Adam and believe that the environment and opportunities he has had here have enabled him to gain confidence and this security should only motivate him to fulfil all his potential with us.”
May joins Greg Taylor, Harrison Dunk and Will Mannion to become the fourth U’s player to sign a new contract with the Club this off-season.
