Laurence Bloom has joined Cambridge United as Head of Performance…
Bloom joins from Millwall where he has spent the past six years in the same role and has previous experience working at Southend United and Charlton Athletic.
Sporting Director Ben Strang said, “We have conducted a thorough process to identify Laurence and are delighted to announce his appointment. He has excellent experience within football and is a highly respected practitioner in the field.”
“He has existing relationships with Mark Bonner and Barry Corr, so we are confident he will transition in to the football department seamlessly. He arrives with real energy and intent to drive the department on as we look to provide the best performance provision for the players.”
“I am really excited,” Bloom said. “I have been speaking to Mark for a little while about the opportunity to come here and seeing where the Club has come from and the direction it is going in, it seemed like a great opportunity.
“In my role, the relationships you have with the staff and players is fundamental to being successful. I know what a great environment this is going to be to work in so I can’t wait to get to know everybody and get to work.”
Bloom starts work with Cambridge United today [1st June 2022] ahead of the players return to Pre-Season on Monday 20th June.
