Cambridge United voted in favour of all EFL Regulatory changes proposed at this year’s EFL AGM with the exception of Reg 33.4 on Substitute Players…
The proposal was approved at today’s EFL Annual General Meeting (AGM) and states that ‘in all League Competition Matches, each team is permitted up to seven substitutes of whom not more than five may take part in the Match.’
It is the Club’s view that this regulation is likely to benefit Club’s with bigger budgets and squads, in turn creating less competitive leagues.
The Club is disappointed that the proposal was approved - which will come into effect next season - but accepts the decision taken democratically by the league.
Other amendments approved at today's AGM include a relaxation of the rules regarding colour blindness kit clashes, an additional Disqualifying Condition in the Owners and Directors’ Test for those that have been convicted of a Hate Crime and changes to Mandatory Articles.
