U's supporting #NoHomeKit this Boxing Day for Shelter

25 households are made homeless in England every 90 minutes...

That's why Cambridge United is supporting Shelter's #NoHomeKit campaign on Boxing Day for the festive fixture against Shrewsbury Town.

Home stadium. Home colours. Home game. The football community knows the importance of home. But this year, thousands of people will be spending Christmas in dingy hostels, on friends’ sofas, or even sleeping in freezing cars. This is something we can’t ignore.

This Christmas, we are making a stand. We are joining clubs and fans up and down the football pyramid to take part in #NoHomeKit; swapping our home colours for our away kit to raise money and make sure everyone in the UK has access to a safe, secure and affordable place to call home.

A bucket collection for Shelter - the housing and homelesness charity - will also be taking place around the ground at the game, so please bring your spare change and help make a difference.

Tackling homelessness is an issue of high importance to Cambridge United and next year, Cambridge United Community Trust is hosting the latest United for Cambridge Sleepout.

On Friday 10th February 2023, Cambridge United Community Trust and Wintercomfort will join forces to raise awareness and vital funds in support of their work with homeless and disadvantaged people in the city.

Tickets for the United for Cambridge Sleepout are £20 per person and each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. The ticket price includes a two-course evening meal, an interactive quiz and hot breakfast the morning after.
