Cambridge United is delighted to announce that Lewis Simper has signed a new three-year contract…
The 20-year-old midfielder first joined the Club as an Under 7 and has made six appearances for the First Team to date, including a start in this season's 1-0 win over Millwall in the Carabao Cup.
“I am really happy,” Simper said. “This is my Club so it means a lot to know that I will continue my journey here at Cambridge.
“It feels good to know that I am wanted so I am eager to pay off the management's faith and make my mark on the team this season.”
Mark Bonner added, "Lewis is deserving of the security of a longer contract having finished last season well and performed at a good level throughout pre-season.
"This will give him the confidence to keep working at the level he has been as he tries to gain as many appearances as he can in the team throughout the season.
"We are pleased with his impact in the small number of games he has played so far and look forward to seeing his steady improvement continue in the months ahead."
Simper's deal extends his terms with the U's through until 2025.
