Dimitar Mitov has been named the Cambridge United Player of the Season at the End of Season Awards Presentation...
The Bulgarian shot-stopper won the public vote to claim the Cambridge United CFU Player of the Season, in addition to the Supporters Club Player of the Season, Cambridge United Message Board Player of the Season and Cambridge 105 FM Player of the Season.
Mitov was denied a clean-sweep by Paul Digby, who took home the BBC Radio Cambridgshire award.
Speaking after the presentation, Mitov says it was the perfect way to end a brilliant campaign.
"It's truly an honour. I have enjoyed my football so much this season it and has been a fantastic year for myself individually but also for the whole team," Mitov said.
"I would like to thank the fans who voted for me and to everyone who has backed the team this season. We have shared so many great moments together here at the Abbey and away from home and today has been just another one to add to the list."
The presentation took place after the final home game of the season, as the U's shared the points with Cheltenham to record a 14th place finish in Sky Bet League One.
