Cambridge United are pleased to announce 15 year old, Kai Yearn has been selected for the England Men’s U16 National Squad at St George’s Park in mid-April.
Kai, who has been at the Club since the age of six, has been selected following a string of impressive performances for the Club’s young U18 squad this season.
Academy Manager, Tom Pell commented: “We are really proud and pleased for Kai to receive such prestigious recognition following a number of impressive performances so far this season.
“We feel that we have some extremely talented young players across all of our Academy age groups and this is great for them all to continue to aspire to play at the highest level.
“We would all like to congratulate Kai for his selection. In what has been a difficult year for all of our boys, he, like lots of others, has continued to show resilience, discipline and hard work at his game and in his academic studies. We would also like to thank Soham Village College for their support towards Kai’s development this season, as well as them granting permission for him to attend the camp at St George’s Park, which I know will be a proud moment for him and his super supportive family.
“He has an awful long way to go but everyone at the Club including his teams mates are really proud of him and hope this is another brilliant experience.”
