Tom Dickens has joined Chelmsford City on a season-long Youth Loan…
The 19-year-old U’s youngster signed his first professional contract in January 2020 and spent time on loan at St Neots last season.
He now joins up with the Clarets under former United player, Robbie Simpson.
Head Coach Mark Bonner said, “Tom will benefit hugely from the experience of joining Chelmsford City and from having the opportunity to get some game time under his belt.
“It is no secret how challenging last season was for all young professionals and we are hopeful that a successful and complete season in the non-league will offer Tom a fuller development experience.
“Robbie Simpson will be good for Tom and we are happy that he and Chelmsford City will support him well in this next stage of the of his development.”
Chelmsford City play in the National League South with their season beginning on August 14th.
