Cambridge United Stadium Manager and Head Groundsman, Ian Darler B.E.M is past the half-way mark to reach his £10,000 goal for Shout 85258, the Club's Mental Health Charity Partner...
Ian is aiming to walk one million steps by January 1st 2022 and with less than a month to go, he has already reached an incredible 750,000 steps. Over £6,000 has been raised which means we still have £4,000 to go.
The simplest way to help is by donating to Ian's JustGiving page, but if you would like to get your walking boots on, join Ian on Sunday 12th December for a 5.6 mile stroll along the River Cam starting at 9:45am from the Abbey Stadium.
Parking is available at the stadium and everyone is welcome to join Ian and the accompanying party. Those who take part in the walk do so under their own risk and responsibility as neither Cambridge United or Ian Darler can except any liability.
A cash collection at the Monday 3rd January 2022 home match against Portsmouth will also be taking place to help boost the final total of the fundraise. A small change can help Mental Health which is why we are asking all fans to bring their change and to donate to the campaign.
All money raised goes to mental health 24/7 crisis text line Shout 85258 so if you can, please donate or help raise awareness of Ian's Million Steps Challenge. Ian has experienced his own mental health challenges in the past, which have been widely documented, including in his book, Life a Pitch.
