Paul Mullin has been named the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Season at the 2021 EFL Awards...
Paul Mullin is the first Cambridge United player to win an EFL Award since the event's inception in 2006. The striker beat out competition in the form of U's teammate Wes Hoolahan and Forest Green Rovers' Jamille Matt.
Since signing for Cambridge United in July 2020, Mullin has been a revelation for the U's, scoring 29 league goals in 46 games and breaking the club record of most goals scored by a player in a Football League season.
"I am delighted to win this award," Mullin said. "It has been a fantastic season not just for myself but also and most importantly, the Club. I would like thank all the fans for their support and my teammates and manager who I couldn't have won this award without."
There was further recognition for the Cambridge United squad during the Awards, with Kyle Knoyle, Wes Hoolahan and Paul Mullin named in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season. All three players have played a huge part in what has been an outstanding season for the Club.
The Club would like to place on record its congratulations to all three players for their significant achievements this season.
