Programme Preview:

Whilst the season may have taken a downward turn in recent weeks from a team perspective, it has certainly not dampened the striker’s enthusiasm to make the most of the competitive thrill he gets from getting stuck into the physical challenge of League Two.

Let’s start with your most recent goal Harvey. Your sixth of the season and was a pretty typical “Harvey Knibbs” type goal wasn’t it?

Yeah. They are the type of goals that I have scored for most of my career so far. I kind of take pride in them, because they are probably seen as the nastier goals. If you can get five or six of them a season then they all go towards helping your tally.

What’s the art to scoring that type of goal, and getting them on a regular basis?

It’s all about timing and definitely a right place, at the right time kind of thing. You have to believe and have a feeling when you’re in the box that the ball could fall to you at any moment, so be ready. When I saw Harry heading the ball at Morecambe, I was already thinking about where it may go if the chance gets blocked. When it fell to me, it was all about hitting it up into the roof of the net.

What are the key areas that you are looking to add to your game over a longer period of time, that you feel will make even more steps forward in your progression?

I have been taken a strength programme since I arrived at the Club, taking that quite seriously. Any days off I’ve been getting down to the gym, to do a bit more extra. As I get stronger I really feel my game can improve. You have to bring different qualities in your game, and players that are capable of an all-round game will probably attract the eye of managers more regularly.
