JACK ROLES LOAN EXTENDED WITH THE U’S UNTIL END OF THE SEASON

Cambridge United are pleased to confirm that Jack Roles has now signed an extension on his loan that keeps him at the Abbey Stadium until the completion of the 2019/2020 season.

The initial loan deal for the Tottenham Hotspur starlet concluded on 5th January, but the 20-year old midfielder will remain a part of United’s first team squad with the Premier League outfit citing the Abbey as the best place for Roles to continue developing his exciting potential for the remainder of the Sky Bet League Two campaign.

Roles’ performances throughout the first half of the season have impressed both Cambridge United’s staff and fans alike, with five goals to his name from his 21 appearances in amber and Black so far.

His spectacular effort against Macclesfield Town at the Abbey in October earned Roles the Sky Bet League Goal of the Month award, whilst he was also voted the Bristol Street Motors PFA Player of the Month voted for by the fans, for his displays throughout October.

Content to be extending his stay at Cambridge United, Roles commented: “I’ve really enjoyed my first loan in senior football so far, and I’m grateful to Cambridge United for extending my loan and for the chance they have given me.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my development in first team football under Colin (Calderwood) and want to repay him and the Club with good performances.

“I would also like to thank all the supporters who have been brilliant week in week out.”
