IAN MATHER URGES U’S FAN TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR PLANS ON CAMBRIDGE METRO SYSTEM

Cambridge United CEO Ian Mather has asked U’s fans to show their support for the plans proposed for a new Cambridge Metro system, by attending public consultation on Monday 2nd March.

In his programme notes for this weekend’s Amber Rambler, Ian articulates the following:

“…a plea from me for all of our fans to engage with the public consultation about plans for a Cambridge Metro system which includes a proposal for underground sections. This is a very important piece of infrastructure for both Cambridge and the U's. Have a look at the video on cam.consultationonline.co.uk in which I talk about the relevance of this for the plans for our new stadium. It would open up easy access from a wide area.

“There is an opportunity for you to give your views at a public consultation session here (Abbey Stadium), next Monday 2 March, from 1.00pm to 7.00pm. Many are sceptical that this will ever happen. Evidence of public support will make a difference. This is your opportunity to get behind a scheme that would be transformational for this city and our club.”
