Enjoy a quick preview of this weekend’s Amber Rambler with a sneak peek at the player feature with goalkeeper Callum Burton.
The Amber Rambler will be available to buy around the ground, from the CFU Van, and in the club shop for just £3. Tickets for tomorrow’s fixture are still available online here, and will also be available in the ticket office on match day until kick off at 3:00pm.
Programme Preview:
“The performances in the last few games due to the weather or pitch probably haven’t been our best footballing performances, but at the end of the day we’ve taken nine points from nine so for us climbing the league just breeds that confidence even more.
“You can easily get off the coach after a long trip to somewhere like Newport or Scunthorpe and think it’s going to be tough today, because the winds up, it’s raining or the pitch isn’t great. But I think it shows the mentality of everybody in the changing room right now. It doesn’t matter what weather conditions we face or how bad the pitch is, we are capable of going anywhere and picking up points.
“We’ve shown that and the key now is to show the ability to keep finding those levels. Don’t let up now, because we have to recognise the hard work that has gone into getting those three results.”
The 23-year old says the whole group has made real progress in spurring each other on and driving the collective standards higher on a daily basis to achieve a better team performance - from the starting eleven right through to those who have made an impact from the bench.
Burton explained: “The more points we get, the more confidence there is amongst the group. It’s credit to everybody, not just the 11 that are starting. People like Victor (Adeboyejo) and Knibbsy who came on at Scunthorpe and ran themselves in to the ground for the team to help us see the game out. Obviously Andy (Dallas) and Knibbsy had an impact against Colchester, and Paul (Mullin) and Tafty gave us a lift at Newport.
“To see other players coming on and hitting high standards too, drives the team on. So it’s brilliant from a whole team collective, not just the lads who start and it shows where we are at as a side.”
