PROGRAMME PREVIEW:

Carroll looks back to the final game of 2018 against League leaders Lincoln City and highlights the impact made by the Amber Army in a bubbling atmosphere at the Abbey.

Whilst the full back says the U’s can take elements of the display positively, they must knuckle down in the key moments to change the outcome overall.

“There were positives from the Lincoln game, albeit we obviously didn’t want to come away from the game at home without any points. But that was a fantastic game to play in, and it created a battle between both sets of fans on the day. Our fans really brought us on, it was such a brilliant atmosphere and that just riles you up and motivates you. We want to do it for them!

“I was quite shocked we didn’t come away with anything from that game, because we threw a lot at Lincoln and had our chances which went so close and could quite easily have made it a different score line.

“Paul Lewis hit the cross bar, I hit the post. It’s those moments though where you need to force it to go your way and create your own luck that will allow us to turn draws into wins and make sure we don’t get beat if we can’t win.

“That’s where we will pick up point and move away from an area we don’t want to be in on the League table.”
