Cambridge United extend partnership with The Energy Check

Cambridge United are delighted to confirm an extension to the partnership with independent energy consultancy, The Energy Check, as official energy partners. The agreement will also see the South Shields based business become a digital media partner with the club for the next two seasons.

The Energy Check will continue to support the club to identify and implement both cost and energy saving opportunities. Significant savings have already been made over the last 12 months, thanks to the negotiation of favourable energy contracts.

As digital media partners, The Energy Check will have an increased presence across Cambridge United’s online channels, including the club’s website and social media accounts.

Nick Fairbairn, Head of Partnerships at Cambridge United, said: “We are delighted to not only be renewing our partnership with The Energy Check for the next two years but building on the relationship we already have with them. We have been grateful for their support at the club over the last two seasons and the new commercial terms will see The Energy Check appear more prominently in our digital content.

“The Energy Check have worked proactively with us to ensure our overall environmental impact is minimised and our costs are reduced, helping us to meet the long term goals of the club.”

Corporate Partnership Manager for The Energy Check, Marcus Mellor, said: “We are very happy to extend our agreement with Cambridge United and we are excited to be working with the club as they look to meet their targets at the Abbey Stadium – both on and off the pitch.

“With the expertise of our energy and technology team we plan to reduce the club’s costs even further by highlighting further energy saving measures and helping them to implement these changes.”
