INTRODUCING THE 12TH FAN…JACK BEETON

Cambridge United are pleased to introduce the first 12th Fan of the 2019/20 season against Newport County tomorrow, Jack Beeton, who lead the U’s out at the Abbey ahead of kick off.

The Club are continuing the 12th Fan initiative for a second season in 2019/20, which sees one season ticket holder at each home match day rewarded for their support of the U’s.

The initiative, supported by Mick George, sees a Cambridge United supporter profiled on the Club website and match programme, feature in the U’s squad list as number 12 on the programme/teamsheet and lead out the U's at the Abbey Stadium on every match day in 2019/20!

Enjoy a preview of Jack’s interview in the match day programme here:

How long have you been supporting Cambridge United? When the first game you attended and what was it that hooked you to become a supporter of the club?

I have been a supporter of Cambridge United since December 2016 and the FA Cup second round match against Coventry City.

Who have you attended the games with during the time you have supported the club and who do you attend the games with now?

I first started coming to the games with my dad during the 2017/18 season, but then after that I’ve been going by myself.

Which stands have you watched the games from? Have you always been in the same place or have you moved around the ground?

I was in the North Habbin at first. Since then I’ve moved to the Newmarket Road End.

What is your best memory of supporting the Club and why?

I’ve got two! When Uche Ikpeazu scored against Leeds United in the FA Cup at the Abbey. And when Barry Corr scored twice against Stevenage the season before last.
