Cambridge United midfielder Jevani Brown has extended his contract at the Abbey Stadium until the end of the 2019/2020 season.
The 23-year old has put pen to paper on an additional one year deal, which will see him continue his exciting development with the U's.
Since arriving at the Club on a permanent basis from St Neots Town in August 2017, Brown has made a seamless transition into the Football League and quickly impressed the Amber Army with his technical ability and skilful performances as an important creative cog within the U's attack.
Thrilled to be extending his time at the Abbey Stadium, Brown commented: "I'm very pleased to have signed the new deal at Cambridge United. It's always good to have that security behind you and allows me to focus fully on my performances and working hard every day.
"I'm really looking forward to the season ahead, especially after having my first full season in the Football League last year. It has definitely made me adjust my goals and I want to achieve more.
"The whole squad believes that Joe’s high intensity style of play can continue to bring out the best in us."
Having initially moved through the youth ranks at Peterborough United as a youngster, he had subsequent spells at Barton Rovers, Arlesey Town, Wingate & Finchley, Kettering and Stamford. The midfielder switched from the latter to St Neots midway through the 2016/17 season, after which he bagged a head-turning 19 goals in 20 matches for the Southern League outfit.
In his opening year with the U's, Brown gained 47 professional appearances under his belt, registered six goals and under the mentorship of Head Coach Joe Dunne has displayed promising signs of developing further on his exciting potential.
Cambridge United Head of Football, Ben Strang added: "Jevani's first season with us was encouraging and we still feel there is more to come from him. We will always aim to secure the club's key assets wherever possible, so we're pleased we've been able to reach an agreement.
"Our desire is to continue developing young players from both within our own academy as well as those we have recruited, and Jevani certainly fits that mould.
“Jevani has made significant progress over the last year at Cambridge United and we all know he has even more to offer. He is an important and exciting player for us and we look forward to helping him develop further at the Club.”
