As Official Match Ball and Website sponsors, at every Cambridge United match day Ethos rewards an individual for their contribution to sport in the Cambridgeshire community as the Hero of the Day.
At Saturday’s match against Carlisle United, Annecka Amos, Service Manager at Goldhay Arts, will be named as Hero of the Day.
Goldhay Arts is a charity which supports adults with learning disabilities to express themselves through performing and visual arts.
The charity was formed in 1994 to offer an artistic programme, where individuals who access the service can develop their skills, focussing on enriching their day to day lives and moving forward to being active members of society, leading fulfilling lives.
To date, Goldhay Arts is still one of the only services for adults with learning disabilities in the Cambridgeshire area to specialise in performing and visual arts. With service users hosting, producing and performing in their own shows annually.
Being no stranger to financial challenges and the need to fundraise, the charity has been remarkably transformed over the last eight years, thanks to a committed Board of Trustees, Staff Team and Sponsors, one of those being Walters, part of the Ethos group.
Speaking about the charity, Annecka Amos said: “Goldhay is a unique and we believe, a very valuable charity close to many people’s hearts and we hope to remain this way, whilst constantly developing and improving to meet our service user’s needs. We look forward to the next 24 years!”
