Cambridge United are pleased to confirm the pitch at the Abbey Stadium has passed an initial inspection today, ahead of the Sky Bet League Two fixture with Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.
Having removed the frost covers this morning, the full pitch was reviewed by an FA referee who passed it as playable. A second pitch inspection will now take place tomorrow morning at 9:30am by the official match referee Brett Huxtable in order to make a final decision.
Thank you to the host of volunteers, led by ground staff Ian Darler and Mick Brown, whose sterling efforts in applying and removing the covers, and gritting large areas of the ground have given the fixture every possibility of being played.
