Cambridge United Community Trust (CUCT) has teamed up with Steel Bones UK to launch their very first weekly Amputee Football Training Session starting on 22nd February 7-8pm at Bottisham Village College in Cambridgeshire.
CUCT is the charitable arm of Cambridge United Football Club, which aims to use the brand of Cambridge United and the power of sport to have a positive impact on the local community. The Trust aims to positively impact the lives of individuals in Cambridgeshire, by delivering a number of programmes across the themes of education, health and inclusion.
Funded by Cambridgeshire FA, the aim of the sessions is to provide all amputees, people with congenital limb deficiencies and persons with restricted use of limbs, with the opportunity to play football. The sessions are open to people of all age groups and abilities.
Hayley Elphee, Disability Officer for Cambridgeshire FA said; “I’m delighted about the new sessions which will provide a great opportunity to participate and enjoy playing football. It’s also a great opportunity for volunteers to get involved and gain experience supporting this exciting new venture.”
