RIDGEONS ANNOUNCED AS HEADLINE SPONSOR FOR CAMBRIDGE UNITED COMMUNITY TRUST GALA DINNER

Cambridge United Community Trust are delighted that the Community Trust Gala Dinner will be sponsored this year by Ridgeons.

The second-ever Community Trust Gala Dinner follows on from the successful inaugural year in 2017 where 250 attended and raised £20,000 for the charity. The dinner, taking place on Friday 11th May, will highlight some of the programmes run by the Cambridge United Community Trust. It will also see the Trust outline their vision for the local community in the coming years. All proceeds will go towards charitable projects run by Cambridge United Community Trust within Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

Ridgeons Timber & Builders Merchants have a strong history of supporting Cambridge United and the Community Trust are delighted to be partnering with them on the Gala Dinner.

Hugh Guntrip, Ridgeons’ Director of Merchants Cambridge commented: "Ridgeons are delighted to be sponsoring the Gala Dinner and are looking forward to the evening. We have been increasingly impressed with the work that the Community Trust are doing in the local area.

“Based right in the heart of Cambridge and only a ten-minute walk away from the Abbey stadium, Ridgeons are pleased to be partnering with a charity focused on reducing the levels of inequality in Cambridge and improving lives across the city.”

"The work of the Community Trust very much aligns with Ridgeons's goals to help all members of the local community and to show what we can achieve when the community comes together.”

Cambridge United Community Trust CEO Ben Szreter commented: ''We are delighted to welcome Ridgeons on board as our headline sponsor for the Gala Dinner. The money raised at last year’s event went directly towards developing our disability sport programme and work in the Abbey Ward. This year’s proceeds will go towards helping us to deepen and expand that work across areas of need in Cambridge.”

The event will take place at Quy Mill Hotel, just outside of Cambridge and will also include the presentations for the Cambridge United Sport in the Community Awards. These awards are currently being nominated each month through a partnership with the Cambridge Independent.

The night represents some fantastic opportunities for networking for the local business community, all whilst raising money for charity and enjoying a three-course dinner with entertainment at the luxurious Quy Mill Hotel.

Alongside headline sponsorship, organisations currently confirmed as attending the evening include Arm, AstraZeneca, Barons BMW, Cambridge Judge Business School, Deloitte, Ethos, Hill Residential, HSBC, Grosvenor, Kershaw, Mick George, Price Bailey and Wrenbridge.
