In partnership with Cambridge United's Official Match Ball and Website sponsors Ethos, each match day this season will see an individual rewarded for their contribution to sport in the community as the Hero of the Day.
As well as featuring in the match day programme and on the Club's online channels, the Ethos Community Hero of the Day will also be given the opportunity to present the official match ball to the referee ahead of kick off.
Today's Ethos Community Hero of the day is Simon Lankester.
As well as being a lifelong supporter of the Club, many fans may recognise Simon as the man behind the lens having been the club's photographer for a number of years, prior to the start of the 2018/19 season.
He has done this on a purely voluntary basis, travelling thousands of miles across the country, and investing a significant amount financially on his photography equipment.
This season, Simon has taken a year off the camera but we are delighted he joins us this afternoon.
He will present the match ball to our referee prior to kick off, so please give him a warm welcome to the field.
