DERRY LOOKING FOR QUICK BOUNCE BACK IN CREWE CLASH TONIGHT

Cambridge United travel to fourth placed Crewe Alexandra in Sky Bet League Two tonight, for the first midweek League tussle of the season.

Shaun Derry’s men will be looking to respond at the first opportunity having seen their three game unbeaten streak ended by Barnet on Saturday after at the Hive Stadium.

Looking ahead to the clash, Derry commented: “We are pleased to have a quick turnaround with the trip to Crewe, following a disappointment like we had on Saturday at Barnet.

“We want to get that performance out of the system as quickly as possible but we know that Crewe will be no easier.

“Our intentions are to perform as we know we can, and show what we have managed to produce in our three previous performances prior to Barnet.”

Meanwhile, this evening’s hosts have enjoyed a steady start to the new season with 11 points from their opening six games. They approach the fixture having dispatched Chesterfield 5-1 on home soil at the weekend.

The U’s took the spoils on both meetings last season, extending their overall head-to-head record to 12 wins over the Alex’ seven.

Tickets for tonight’s fixture will be available from the Alexandra Stadium for travelling U’s supporters.
