Jon Stump, Finance Director of club sponsor Mick George Ltd, will be trekking across Costa Rica later this year raising money for the Lewis Moody Foundation, which helps those diagnosed with brain tumours: one of Britain’s biggest cancer killers of children and adults under 40.
Journeying from the East to the West coast of Costa Rica, Jon along with former England Rugby Captain Lewis Moody MBE plus 18 others, will be tackling the epic encounter from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Covering 260km over 8 days. This unique, multi-discipline trial is set to cover walking, kayaking, mountain biking and rafting across a stunning, yet demanding terrain, pushing the physical and mental limits of all involved.
Camping overnight in remote locations, crossing altitudes of over 2,300 metres and enduring a vast range of weather conditions from extreme heat and humidity to cold fog and sudden downpours, this is a true expedition through the wilderness of Costa Rica.
Jon has set himself an extraordinary fundraising target of £12,000 and has funded the trip out of his own pocket. As a long term supporter of Cambridge United FC we are asking all fans to sponsor Jon for just £1 (less than a pint of milk) to help hit this target and raise as much money as possible for this great cause.
