The countdown to Cup week continues with Cambridge United set to open their Emirates FA Cup account against Sutton United, before facing derby day tussle with Peterborough United!
Following fixtures with former FA Cup winners Manchester United, Leeds United and Coventry City in recent years, the U’s are aiming to ignite another memorable Emirates FA Cup journey at 2pm on Sunday afternoon at the Cambs Glass Stadium against National League Sutton United.
Paul Doswell’s side are no strangers to an exciting cup run themselves, having produced a stunning campaign last season to defeat both AFC Wimbledon and Leeds United en-route to a unforgettable clash against Premier League Arsenal at Gander Green Lane.

Meanwhile, the U’s face a quick turnaround in fixtures as Cambridge United plays host to the first derby with Peterborough United in 16 years on Tuesday night (K.O. 7:45pm).
With the Posh expected to sell out their full allocation of 1,400 tickets in the South Stand, United really will need the full backing of the Amber Army in what is sure to be a feisty and unmissable encounter.
Looking ahead to Cup week, Head Coach Shaun Derry commented: “This is an exciting week to look forward to for players, staff and supporters alike.
“This Club has great tradition in the FA Cup and having been drawn at home, we want to take full advantage of that and need our supporters to get right behind us to do so.
“As for Tuesday night it’s simple, I will be treating it as a derby and not as the Checkatrade Trophy.”
