Cambridge United are pleased to reveal that just under £20,000 has been raised towards future Community Trust projects, at the hugely successful inaugural Gala Dinner.
The event was held in a marquee at the Cambs Glass Stadium last month, bringing together all cross sections of the local community, and included the Cambridge United Sport in the Community Awards delivered in association with the Cambridge Independent.
All money raised from tickets for the dinner itself, as well as fundraising activities on the night, are to be designated towards further Community Trust projects in Abbey Ward, and developing our Disability Sport Programme.
Special guests at the event, which was sponsored by AstraZeneca, included local politicians Heidi Allen, Daniel Zeichner and Lucy Frazer, as well as the newly elected Mayor for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough James Palmer and Councillors Lewis Herbert and Kevin Blencowe.
