U’S ADD FOREST FORWARD GERRY McDONAGH ON LOAN
Cambridge United have today completed the loan signing of Nottingham Forest striker Gerry McDonagh until the end of the 2016/17 season.
McDonagh is an 18-year old product of the Forest Academy and signed his first professional deal with the Club ahead of the 2015/16 season.
After making his senior debut in August 2015 against Cardiff City, McDonagh has since impressed during a six month loan with Wrexham, scoring five goals in 21 games for the Dragons during the first half of the current season.
On the international stage, the youngster has also represented the Republic of Ireland at Under 17’s level, with five appearances and one goal.
Cambridge United Manager Shaun Derry commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Gerry to our squad.
“He brings an added physicality to our forward line, which we feel we’re going to require between now and the end of the current season.”
