CAMBRIDGE UNITED PLEASED TO SUPPORT SAFFRON WALDEN TOWN'S TESTIMONIAL EVENT FOR PAUL DAW

CAMBRIDGE UNITED PLEASED TO SUPPORT SAFFRON WALDEN TOWN'S TESTIMONIAL EVENT FOR PAUL DAW

Cambridge United are delighted to be sponsoring Saffron Walden Town Football Club's Testimonial Match for Paul Daw and urges supporters to get behind the event on Sunday 5th February.

The local football community are set to come together and show their appreciation for Paul's decades of service, which included a period at the U's as the Club's Secretary.

Cambridge United are to sponsor the testimonial, in which the current Saffron Walden team will play against a Saffron Walden legends side made up of players from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.

Meanwhile, former Cambridge United and Manchester United star Luke Chadwick will also be making an appearance for both teams on what is sure to be an entertaining afternoon.

The proceeds from the event will fund a new sign that is to be installed at Saffron Walden Town for the 'Paul Daw Stand' in Paul's honour, as well as a charity of his choice.

The match will kick off at 12pm, with a raffle, auction, 50/50 draw and Beat the Goalkeeper competition to raise as much money as possible on the day for Paul's exceptional contribution in the local community.

Supporters who wish to attend the event can do so by donating upon arrival at Saffron Walden Town.

Meanwhile a roast carvery will also be available after the match, but tickets for this option must be purchased tickets in advance for £15 per adults and £12 per child. Please contact 01799 520980 to book.

A number of Cambridge United's first team players will also be attending in support of the event, along with several members of the Club's senior staff including CEO Jez George, who commented: "Saffron Walden have done a fantastic job in organising this event for such a deserving cause.  Paul is an ex-employee of Cambridge United, but more importantly, he has made a huge contribution to local football, notably at Saffron Walden.

“We are honoured to play a small role in Saffron Walden's event to help pay tribute to Paul and raise as much money as possible.  We urge as many supporters of Cambridge United, Saffron Walden Town and local football to support Paul by attending this event."
