JOSH COULSON TESTIMONIAL DINNER

JOSH COULSON TESTIMONIAL DINNER

Cambridge United are pleased to announce a Testimonial Dinner for Josh Coulson on Saturday 13th May at the Cambs Glass Stadium (7:30pm), with tickets now available from the Club's events website.

Hosted by Talksport and Sky Sports presenter Max Rushden, supporters are invited to enjoy an evening with the U's centre-back in a marquee event at the Cambs Glass Stadium, celebrating Josh's ten years service as a professional player with Cambridge United.

Having joined United's re-formed youth scheme back in 2006 with Jez George, Coulson signed his first professional contract at the end of that season, before making his first team debut against Halifax Town in 2007.

Since then the defender has been involved in the FA Trophy winning team, the successful promotion season in 2013/14, netted the U's first goal back in the Football League against Plymouth Argyle on the opening day of the 2014/15 campaign and was a part of the side that held Manchester United to a goalless draw in the FA Cup Fourth Round.

The event will include a Legend's Table made up of former Cambridge United players who will talk about their time at the club, as well as a detailed look back through Josh's experiences wearing Amber & Black, throughout the evening.  We will reveal their identity in the coming weeks, as well as other high profile guests.

Tickets for the event are £50 each which includes a three course meal and places can be secured online at cufc-events.co.uk, with supporters able to direct any enquiries to commercial@cambridge-united.co.uk.

Looking ahead to the night, Coulson said: "I'm really looking forward to the evening and celebrating my ten years at Cambridge United with people that have supported me over those years.

"I've already had so many amazing times with this Football Club and it's exciting to be kicking off my testimonial events with this dinner.

"I hope to see plenty of friendly faces there as it will give me the perfect chance to say thank you for everyone's fantastic backing during the last decade."

Meanwhile, Cambridge United CEO Jez George added: "Every single person connected with Cambridge United holds Josh in the highest esteem and has the utmost respect for the way in which he has represented the Club, on and off the pitch, over the last 10 years.  I would urge supporters to ensure this event is sold out.  That’s what Josh deserves - a great night, with everyone showing him how highly he is regarded."

Following the dinner, once back to full fitness, Josh will stage a Golf Day during the summer, and his testimonial events will be completed by a game in pre-season.  These details will follow in the coming weeks.

George concluded "This dinner is a perfect opportunity for people to thank Josh personally for his contribution and commitment to the Club.  It is rare in modern football for a player to earn a testimonial and the fact that Josh has achieved this feat for his home town club, who he supported growing up, makes it even more special.  He truly is "one of our own" and epitomises the values that define Cambridge United.  I really hope that we can all make Saturday 13th May the special night that Josh deserves"
