During the close season, Cambridge Fans United undertook to hold a series of consultation meetings with its members and provide opportunities to answer questions and listen to fans views.
After Saturday’s match against Morecambe, the first of these opportunities will be taking place in the Abbey Arms, perhaps better known as Marvin’s bar, at the rear of the Mundipharma Community Stand from 5:15pm.
All fans, not just CFU members, will be welcome to come along and participate in an informal get together with Fans Elected Director and Supporters Liaison Officer, Dave Matthew-Jones and Chair of CFU, Robert Osbourn.
In addition, Cambridge United’s Chief Operating Officer, Henry Comfort, will be available to answer questions related to the day to day running of the club and to listen to and take on board supporters views on topics of interest.
Mark Bonner, Cambridge United Academy Manager, will also be in attendance and will happily explain anything about the working of the Academy and what he is seeking to achieve, as part of the club’s network.
Together with a general discussion, there will also be an opportunity for fans to chat to CFU’s representatives and those from the club on a one-to-one basis.
Robert Osbourn said: “Whilst I apologise for the short notice of this meeting, I do hope that some fans will be able to come along and get involved. Hopefully, the traffic will have died down a little by the time we have finished and fans will have been able to say their piece and get more information on what is going on.”
“It has been suggested that CFU does not always have its finger on the pulse of the views of its members or of supporters more generally. We want that to change and we are keen to hear what fans think. This is the first of what I hope will be a series of fruitful exchanges.”
