With the Amber Army set to return to the Cambs Glass Stadium for the opening clash of the 2017/18 season tomorrow, the Club are excited to offer supporters a range of new food and drink options to improve the U’s match day experience.
If you are looking for a place to enjoy a pre-match drink and some grub, then the newly refurbished Marvin’s Bar accompanied with its beer garden is the perfect spot!
In partnership with Brewery partners Greene King, East Coast IPA will be available from Marvin’s for a discounted rate of just £2.50 a pint! The bar also offers a range alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and other refreshments to keep supporters young and old catered for.
Meanwhile, for the opening fixtures of the season the U’s have also partnered with Keiref Catering who are set to offer supporters an exciting range of South African Cuisine from Marvin’s beer garden.
“Both the South African and Jamaican culture is about colourful vibrancy, welcoming warmth and delicious yummy food. We both love to entertain, socialize and treat our family and friends with delicious homemade authentic food. On many occasions, we were asked whether we would consider doing catering for events or even start our own business. That is how Kerief Catering was born.
We started trading as Kerief Catering in February 2017, serving delicious Dutch Poffertjes. Our Poffertjes have been very well received and we already have a permanent space at The Cambridge Market on a Thursday.
Starting small with our delicious Dutch Poffertjes, we are now ready to extend to include fresh, vibrant and delicious South African and Jamaican flavours. We will of course still have our Poffertjes for those who need their little sweet treat.”
The Club have internalised aspects of our match day catering as we look to improve the experience for supporters attending the Cambs Glass Stadium.
As part of this, beer prices have been reduced by an average of 10% across the Cambs Glass Stadium, in partnership with Greene King.
Supporters are also able to continue using the Dion Dublin Bar which as always offers a cash bar facility.
Alongside the Tea Bars available in all areas of the ground, the Club has also added mobile units to reduce the queue times, improve quality, and increase the food and drink options available for the Amber Army. This season an additional mobile unit will be located at the rear of the Newmarket Road End.
