MATCH PREVIEW: YEOVIL TOWN
Cambridge United return to the Cambs Glass Stadium tonight to face Yeovil Town in Sky Bet League Two (Kick Off 7:45pm).
Following their first League win of the campaign at Newport County on Saturday, United will be looking to make it consecutive wins against the Glovers this evening and lift themselves back up the division.
Playing under the midweek lights for the first time in League Two this season, the U's are likely to still be without James Dunne, George Maris and Piero Mingoia for the encounter through injury.
Meanwhile, the Glovers make the long journey from Somerset on the back of a comfortable 4-2 win over Cheltenham Town on Saturday, which lifted Darren Way’s side up to 19th position. Yeovil have picked up ten points from their opening nine games so far this season.
The U’s completed the League double over the Glovers for the first time ever last season, but will need to be on top form if they are to keep up their recent run of results against tonight’s visitors.
Yeovil lead the overall head-to-record between the sides, with five wins to United’s two.
Cambridge United Manager Shaun Derry hopes Saturday’s win in South Wales can be a catalyst for a positive string of results, and commented: “We had to wait a long time for that first win, but we want to look back on it as a catalyst that takes us forward.
“There was a feeling of real unity between the players and supporters who made the journey to South Wales at the weekend, which meant that come the final whistle, it was a result we could all treasure together. They backed us throughout the afternoon brilliantly, even when we were behind and fighting hard to find a way back into the match.
“That togetherness will be key again this evening under the midweek lights and we all know what a fantastic atmosphere this ground can produce.”
