MATCH PREVIEW | NOTTS COUNTY – AWAY

MATCH PREVIEW | NOTTS COUNTY – AWAY

Cambridge United will be looking to bounce back to winning ways this evening in Sky Bet League Two as they travel to Meadow Lane to go toe-to-toe with Notts County.

Despite a dominant second half display against Wycombe on Saturday, the U’s suffered a sickening late defeat at the hands of the Chairboys who scored in the dying embers of stoppage time to inflicta 2-1 loss.

The U’s were without Medy Elito and Harrison Dunk for the tussle, who look to be doubtful once more this evening, whilst Josh Coulson also departed the field early when he suffered an ankle injury. However, James Dunne will return from suspension tonight for the clash as United look to progress up a tight league table.

Meanwhile, this evening’s hosts will also be hoping to rebound from defeat at the weekend following a 3-0 home loss to Newport County. The Magpies are without a win in their last three Sky Bet League Two fixtures.

County are certainly not short of fire power though with Jon Stead notching nine goals already for John Sheridan’s side in his second season with the club.

The U’s twice got the better of the Magpies last season, with a 3-1 win at the Cambs Glass Stadium followed by a 2-1 victory at Meadow Lane earlier this year. However, County still lead the overall head-to-head records between the teams with 11 wins to United’s seven.

Tickets are available at the gate for this evening’s match.
