AFC Wimbledon Match Day Programme
As we enter 2016, the Cambridge United Match day programme has freshened up with a number of new features, as well as plenty of exclusive content!
New features include “Dream Team” in which one member of the Cambridge United first team will select the best starting Xi of players they have featured alongside during their career.
Kicking off the new feature on Saturday, who better than U’s boss Shaun Derry who reveals the best side from his 20 year playing career, with the Amber Army able to read a preview below.
Meanwhile, also included in the match day programme for the remainder of 2016, 100 Years of Coconuts will profile each of the Cambridge United Legends emblazoned across the rear of the Newmarket Road End on the Legend’s wall.
The “Legend’s Wall” feature begins this weekend with iconic U’s goalkeeper John Vaughan, who occupies the number one jersey on the NRE.
Also included in this weekend’s edition is a Main Feature Article with Century man Robbie Simpson, who discusses the determination within the first team to compete for places in the side and push team mates on to a higher level of performance. We’ll have a sneak preview of that feature on Cambridge-United.co.uk tomorrow morning.

Wayne Quinn
I always think that players with a good left foot look slightly more cultured, and Wayne really was a good player. His career sadly ended far too early, but a wonderful left footed player.
Joey Barton
I had the opportunity to spend a year with Joey which meant I got to know his character and it’s the game that makes Joey tick. He has such a high standard for not only himself but everybody around him and when he crosses the white line, he wants to win absolutely everything.
Alejandro Faurlin
Alejandro unfortunately has suffered from three cruciate injuries and I think if he hadn’t, he would be playing regularly in the Premier League. He was the best midfielder that I played alongside.
Robert Prosinecki
His name stands out as a superstar. When we were on the training field at Portsmouth, the Chairman announced that he had a present for us all and out popped Robert. As soon as he turned up in training, we were all taken aback.
