MATCH PREVIEW: LEYTON ORIENT VS CAMBRIDGE UNITED

Match Preview: Leyton Orient - Matchroom Stadium - K.O. 3:00pm

Backed by their biggest away following of the season, Cambridge United will travel to the Matchroom Stadium this Saturday to face Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League Two.

Shaun Derry’s side will be bidding for their first win on the road of 2016 which would extend their current unbeaten run to three games and continue their climb up the League ladder.

Back-to-back draws with Luton Town and Hartlepool United currently positions the U’s in 12th place in Sky Bet League Two, but three points this weekend could move them within one point of the play off places.

Greg Taylor (leg) and Conor Newton (back) will both not feature in East London on Saturday.

Meanwhile the hosts approach the game having won their first two games under the stewardship of former Premier League midfielder Kevin Nolan. A midweek win over Newport County followed up a 2-0 win over fellow play off hopefuls Wycombe last weekend.

Jay Simpson continues to prove hot in front of goal, with 22 goals to his name which makes him the most clinical striker in the division so far this season.

The sides shared a spoil of the points when they met earlier in the season and played out a 1-1 draw at the Abbey Stadium.

Looking ahead to the fixture, Shaun Derry commented: “I watched Leyton Orient on Tuesday against Newport and saw them secure their second win on the bounce, with Kevin Nolan coming in as Manager.

“We face a real difficult afternoon as they probably have one of the strongest squads in the division, and find themselves in the top seven.

“We’ll have a tricky opponent on our hands but as always we’ll take the game to Leyton Orient.”
