Cambridge United U15/16s are set to take on Liverpool at the Abbey Stadium on Monday 15th February (K.O. 7:00pm), with tickets available to supporters online at www.cufcdirect.com, in-store and over the phone now!
Following the successful fixture against Tottenham Hotspurs in October 2015, in which over 900 supporters turned out to support the club’s top schoolboy age group, the U’s can now reveal another match has been confirmed against the Reds.
The Amber Army are therefore invited once again to watch the cream of the Cambridge United Academy in action, with the club aiming for an even bigger attendance to provide the players with the best possible experience.
Children aged 17 and under are able to attend the match totally free of charge, whilst adult tickets in the Main Stand are also available to purchase for just £5!
It’s therefore a fantastic opportunity to watch the U’s brightest prospects for an extremely affordable price. The club is urging all supporters to show the young guns the same outstanding support shown towards the first team on a Saturday afternoon at the Abbey Stadium.
Looking ahead to the fixture, Academy Manager Richard Meek said: “After the success of the Tottenham match in October we are really looking forward to hosting another top club in Liverpool next month.
“The experience the boys gained by playing in front of 926 fans on the stadium pitch we hope will greatly enhance their long-term progress. All of our players in the squad have now accepted our offer of a two year scholarship, so these opportunities to play against top level opposition are invaluable to their development.
“We are extremely grateful to Liverpool for bringing their Academy players to the Abbey Stadium and we are hoping for a really closely fought game in front of another big crowd.”
