CAMBRIDGE UNITED SIGN LEFT BACK RYAN HAYNES ON LOAN

U'S SIGN COVENTRY FULL BACK HAYNES UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON

Cambridge United have signed Coventry City left back Ryan Haynes on a loan deal until the end of the 2015/16 Sky Bet League Two season.

The 20-year old defender is a Sky Blues Academy product and joins Shaun Derry's side to cover the position of fellow loanee Lewis Page, who has sustained a fracture in his foot that rules out the West Ham full back until at least the end of his loan spell with the U's.

Despite making his Coventry City and League One debut against Brentford in 2013, Haynes came to prominence for the Midlands side within their Under 21s, before making a further two appearances at first grade level during the 2013/14 season.

He enjoyed a consistent run in Sky Bet League One last season, featuring 31 times, and continued to play regularly under Tony Mowbray at the beginning of the current campaign, where he added 11 more appearances to his repertoire.

Haynes could be in line to make his U's debut this afternoon at the Lamex Stadium against Stevenage.

Explaining the reasoning behind the loan, Shaun Derry commented: "We felt the need to act swiftly due to the injury picked up by Lewis Page, that could rule him out for the remainder of his month with us.

"However, once again we have been able to bring a forward thinking footballer to the club in Ryan, who also brings with him the experience of playing at a higher level already."
