CAMBRIDGE UNITED ANNOUNCE CAMBS GLASS STADIUM
Cambridge United are delighted to announce a new stadium naming rights partnership with Cambs Glass Ltd in a significant financial agreement.
From the beginning of the 2016/17 Football League season, the U's will play all of their home fixtures at the newly named Cambs Glass Stadium.
The local glazing and roof lights company, who are one of the UK's leading specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke architectural glazing, have now substantially stepped up their current commercial involvement with Cambridge United.
Having sponsored the club's home and away dugouts during the 2015/16 campaign, this new partnership will see Cambs Glass Ltd become official stadium naming rights partner and also take up sponsorship for the club's high-end hospitality room, which will be known as the Cambs Glass Hospitality Lounge from next season.
Much like Cambridge United, Cambs Glass Ltd are committed to their values and pride themselves on reliability, loyalty, honesty and which all resonate strongly with the philosophy of Cambridge United.
Pleased to have agreed a sizable investment and expanded the partnership with the local company, Business Operations Manager Liz Slack Commented: "Cambs Glass are a local company, run by local people and like Cambridge United, they have an ambition to succeed and develop their business in conjunction with the community within which they operate.
"The directors of the company are true fans of the club and therefore understand the sensitivity that comes with a partnership of this nature. The deal that has been agreed is structured in a way that provides enormous benefits to the club and will ensure that Cambs Glass will be associated with Cambridge United for the long term."
Meanwhile, Chairman Dave Doggett reiterated the strong financial value of the partnership, adding: "It will always be the 'Abbey Stadium' to our fans, but we live in a commercial world and this is a significant financial benefit to the club, which will allow us to continue investing in the first team squad to maintain our upward trajectory and help to deliver future on field success."
Adam Eagle of Cambs Glass Ltd commented: "Following on from the successful dug-out sponsorship for the 2015/16 season, when the opportunity arose to further strengthen our commercial ties with Cambridge United there was no hesitation in making a decision.
"As a company we have ambitious growth and development plans, something that Cambridge United share both on and off the pitch. We also pride ourselves on being a local business, reinvesting into the local community, again this is shared by Cambridge United.
"Signing this new agreement is a delight to all involved at Cambs Glass and shows our commitment to a long term association with Cambridge United." Find out more about Cambs Glass Ltd at www.cambsglass.co.uk.
