UNITED MANAGER PREVIEWS HARTLEPOOL MATCH
Cambridge United Manager Richard Money looks ahead to this weekend’s away fixture to Hartlepool United, and feels a good game of football is in store for the travelling Amber Army.
The U’s take on the Monkey Hangers on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League Two action at Victoria Park, with Money expecting a difficult encounter from the hosts in the North East of the country.
He said: “I think it will be a good game of Football. We went up to Carlisle earlier in the season which turned out to be an incredible game of football with both teams really going at each other and I don’t expect this weekend to be too much different.
“It [Victoria Park] is a very parochial place and the support that they will have I’m sure will be partisan which never makes it an easy place to get a result.
“We saw last year the way that Hartlepool ended the season and they have been able to recruit quite strongly over the summer, which I expect means they will have a better season this time round. It will be a tough game.”
United will be looking to build on last weekend’s important point against Leyton Orient, and Money says that despite several injury issues to his side, they are continuing to battle as best they can to swing momentum back in their favour.
“We know that we need to gain some momentum somewhere, and we are trying to be extremely pragmatic at the minute.
“Being realistic we know we are not where we want to be, not in terms of League position but in terms of performance, but we will keep working at it.
“We are in a period where we just have to batten down the hatches and stay in contention.
“When we get more players back and a stronger squad on the training pitch then I’m sure it will come good, but during this period we have to be patient and as good as we can be until we get there.”
The U’s are set to be boosted by the return of Harrison Dunk, who served a suspension last weekend following a controversial dismissal against Luton Town two weeks ago. The U’s boss feels it’s feels that this is an as
“It will be good to have Harrison [Dunk] back this week. Having your better players back on the pitch certainly lifts people and everybody starts the game naturally with a lot more optimism. That goes for the same on the terraces.
“Certainly he will add to our attacking verve and hopefully he can perform as well as he has done for the first part of the season.”
