NEWS FROM THE U’S ON LOAN
Check out how the U’s players currently out on loan performed in latest weekend’s round of fixtures.
WILL NORRIS
Norris continued his fine form for Vanarama National League side Braintree Town, holding League Two Oxford United to a 1-1 in Essek to ensure they secured a First Round relay at the Kassam Stadium.
So impressive have been the 22-year old’s performances in goal for the Iron in recent weeks, that last week saw him pick the Vanarama National League Player of the Month award.
JAMES AKINTUNDE
James Akintunde also enjoyed a successful weekend in the Emirates FA Cup, playing for the full ninety minutes against Newport County as Brackley Town also earned a replay against their higher ranked opposition at Rodney Parade following a 2-2 draw.
MATT LOWE
Matt Lowe returned to Wealdstone FC for a second loan spell this season, having enjoyed a successful stint in Middlesex last month.
He returned to the Freebets.co.uk Stadium in time to feature in Wealdstone’s home FA Cup tie against Sky Bet League One side Colchester United. Although the National League South side were put to the sword by the U’s, Lowe did play 67 minutes in his return appearance, adding energy to the Stones midfield.
DANNY BURNS
Having made his debut for Bishop Stortford two weeks ago against Oxford City, Danny Burns missed out on last weekend’s 3-2 win over Bath City, and will look to return to Vanarama National League South action this Saturday against Sutton United.
RYAN HORNE
Ryan Horne made a late substitute appearance for St Neots Town as they progressed through the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy with a 2-0 win over Bedworth United.
Horne also featured for 29 minutes in the Bedfordshire side’s narrow 1-0 victory against Dunstable Town last Tuesday, and continues to notch up valuable game time from his loan spell.
