Futsal is one of the fastest growing indoor sports in the world and the only form of small-sided football that is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA. A five-a-side game with up to nine substitutes permitted, the game is played on a flat indoor pitch with hockey sized goals and a smaller ball with a reduced bounce.

Delighted to have overseen the club’s increased involvement with the sport, Cambridge United Futsal Development Officer Ross Brooks commented: “We're delighted to form a partnership with what was Cambridge Futsal Club for next season, and it's going to be fantastic for Cambridgeshire to have Jose Lima, Ruggero Ferretti & Luis Mendonca overseeing our Cambridge United FC Mens Senior Futsal Team in the National League.

“Luke Chadwick not only states the intent for next season, but how seriously as a club we're going to be taking Futsal moving forwards.

“With our Futsal Scholarship Programme at CRC for 16-18 year olds, and Futsal schools for 12-16 year olds, we're looking to offer opportunities to young players to progress and develop into playing for the U's in Futsal".

The full fixture list including for the forthcoming National League season is available on the following link, with Cambridge United fans urged to head across to the University to support the new U’s side.
