MATCH PREVIEW: CAMBRIDGE UTD VS MANSFIELD TOWN

Abbey Stadium, Kick Off 3pm

The U’s welcome play-off chasing Mansfield Town to the Abbey Stadium this Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League Two, marking United’s final fixture before Christmas.

Shaun Derry’s men have been in fine form recently, winning three league games in a row and head into this weekend’s fixture against the Stags looking for a fourth.

Only Keith Keane and Elliott Omozusi remain unavailable for United, as the U’s look to begin a busy schedule of fixtures with another exciting performance.

The visitors, Mansfield Town head into the game seventh in the league and looking to cement their play-off position further. The Stags are unbeaten in four including a draw against Leyton Orient at the One Call Stadium last weekend to follow a 3-1 win over Barnet.

The U’s faced Mansfield four times last season and were unbeaten on all occasions, including a Second Emirates FA Cup triumph. In fact, United have not lost against the Nottinghamshire side since 2013, but the overall record between the two sides is in the Stags favour. Mansfield have won 14 times in all competitions to 13 victories for United, a record Shaun Derry will hope his side can level tomorrow afternoon.

Right midfielder Jordan Jones has returned to his parent club Middlesbrough by mutual agreement and will therefore not be in contention for the U’s.

Tickets for the game are still available online, in-store and by calling 01223 566 500 with the Amber Army able to make £2 saving off full match day prices by purchasing before close of play today.
