CHADWICK SET FOR FUTSAL DEBUT

Secure a ticket for CUFC pre-season clash against Oxford Lions – 6th Sept

Former Cambridge and Manchester United star Luke Chadwick is set to make his debut for Cambridge United Futsal Club next Sunday against Oxford City Lions, with tickets available to purchase online now!

Last month the club announced an exciting merger with the city’s existing futsal team to form the Cambridge United Futsal Club, which as of next month will compete in the FA National League Midlands Division Two.

Chadwick was revealed as the star signing; having had an involvement with Cambridge United Futsal Schools and Futsal Scholarship Programme this summer, which now offers a direct pathway into the National League side.

Ahead of the start of the new season, an exciting pre-season clash against the Oxford City Lions has been planned on 6th September (KO 12.15pm) at Cambridge University - where the new CUFC side will play all home fixtures - and gives Cambridge United supporters the chance to check out Chadwick and the U’s Futsal team in action against high class opposition.

The Lions will compete in the Super League South for the forthcoming 2015/16 season and are considered to be one of the top Futsal clubs in the country, therefore marking them out as more than worthy opponents for CUFC’s inaugural fixture.

Cambridge United season ticket holders, participants of the summer Futsal schools and those who have signed up to the club’s Futsal Development Centres which begin in September, are able to attend the fixture free of charge.

Futsal is one of the fastest growing indoor sports in the world and the only form of small-sided football that is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA. A five-a-side game with up to nine substitutes permitted, the game is played on a flat indoor pitch with hockey sized goals and a smaller ball with a reduced bounce.

Cambridge United’s full fixture list for the forthcoming National League campaign is available on the following link, with U’s fans urged to head across to the University to support the new side as often as possible this season.
