Andy Beattie appointed as Operations Manager
CAMBRIDGE United are delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Beattie as Operations Manager from Monday 17th November.
Andy started his football career at the age of 16 as an apprentice with Cambridge United and went on to play almost one hundred games for the club. Since retiring from professional football, Andy has forged a commercial career whilst retaining continuity with the football world by working for Premier League Productions and Opta. Andy, 50, has lived in Cambridge since arriving in the city thirty four years ago and has had a strong affinity with the football club throughout this time. His remit will include the role of Football Secretary and he will also be tasked by CEO Jez George to oversee, grow and develop a number of areas in the club's operation.
Jez George, commented "This is a crucial role in restructuring the off-field operation at Cambridge United. Andy has the attributes and qualities that we are looking for in this role. He is passionate about the club, he is a real football man whilst having significant experience in commercial activities and operational matters. Andy will add expertise, knowledge and further professionalism to the club. He is the perfect choice for this position and I look forward to working with him closely as we continue to implement the changes required at the club for our long term development."
