Two first-half goals sink United at Gigg Lane
TWO first half goals were enough to sink the U's at high flying Bury.
The hosts, who had won their last six home games, got off to a flying start on 13 minutes, the impressive Nicky Adams curling a shot past Chris Dunn from 20 yards out.
Bury continued to press and after Luke Chadwick came close for United, the Shakers made it two thanks to Danny Rose who nodded home from close range after a blistering attack
down the right hand side.
United started to get back into the game towards the end of the half, Tom Elliott and Kwesi Appiah both forging half-chances in front of the 326 travelling U's fans.

Half-time saw Tom Elliott replaced by Harrison Dunk and he was straight into the thick of the action. United broke after Dunn had done well to stop Ryan Lowe's effort, Dunk finding Appiah who
was thwarted by a fine save from Rob Lainton.
Richard Money then brought Tom Naylor and Liam Hughes into the fray as the U's continued to press. On 60 minutes Ryan Donaldson and Liam Hughes both had shots blocked well by the Shakers and moments later, the powerful Pablo Mills got across in time to deny Ryan Donaldson a clean strike at goal.
United continued to push for a goal, Liam Hughes' deflected strike ended up on the roof of the net before Donladson had a free-kick saved well by Lainton.
Harrison Dunk's goal-bound strike was cleared off the line in the 84th minute, that proved to be the last real chance for United. The hosts had two good efforts late on, Courtney Duffus attempting to lob Chris Dunn and Nicky Adams curling a strike against the bar.
