Luke Berry signs contract extension at United
LUKE Berry has signed a new contract at Cambridge United until June 2016.
Berry, 21, is a graduate of the Cambridge United Youth Development System, joining the U’s when the Youth Scheme reformed in May 2006.
Luke made his first start for the U’s in February 2011 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances in a United shirt, scoring over 20 goals.
Speaking about his new contract at United, Cambridge-born Berry said: "I'm really glad to have signed for another two years at Cambridge United. I've really enjoyed my time here and there would be nothing better than helping Cambridge United get promoted and playing here in League Two."
U’s Director of Football, Jez George, said: "We,ve been speaking to luke and his agent for some time about extending his contract, whilst we have always understood his ambitions of playing at the highest level possible, we have always tried to convince him that he can achieve those aims with Cambridge United."
Jez continued: "Having signed Josh Coulson and Liam Hughes on longer deals, we are delighted to have made Luke the third of three youth scheme graduates to have recently committed their futures to the club."
