U's defeat Waders in first pre-season fixture

CAMBRIDGE United overcame Biggleswade Town 3-0 this afternoon, in the first game of a busy pre-season schedule.

A 22-man squad made the trip to the Carlsberg Stadium, including trialists Dan Leadbitter and Sam Whittle.

Harrison Dunk broke the deadlock on 30 minutes, his drilled shot from twelve yards beat Ian Brown and found the back of the net.

Robbie Simpson made it two on 34 minutes after some good work from Delano Sam-Yorke, Simpson rifled home into the bottom left hand corner of the goal.

Richard Money made a number of changes at half-time and the U's began the second half on the front foot.

The third goal of the game came on 72 minutes, Adam Cunnington nodded home at the back post from Liam Hurst's cross.

Bobby-Joe Taylor, Nathan Arnold and Adam Cunnington all came close to extending the U's lead, however the score remained at 3-0.
