United claim all three points on the road
LIAM Hughes scored the only goal of the game as United defeated Tamworth 1-0 at The Lamb Ground this evening.Hughes' goal came on 63 minutes, his 25-yard free-kick flew past Belford into the top corner of the Tamworth goal.
The first-half saw the U's start brightly, forcing a number of corners in the early stages.
United's first chance came from Luke Berry, his header ending up just wide of the Tamworth goal. Liam Hughes saw his header tipped over by Belford and Matthew Barnes-Homer also came close for United. Tamworth's best chance of the half fell to Peniket, his header flashed wide to the left of Will Norris' goal.

The U's came out for the second period pressing for a breakthrough and it nearly came, Matthew Barnes-Homer was put through one-on-one but his shot was palmed away by Belford.
The breakthrough came just three minutes later, Berry was brought down 25 yards out and up stepped Hughes to fire home with a superb strike from the free-kick.
United had chances to extend their lead, Elliott, Berry and Arnold all coming close. Tamworth pressed the U's back in the closing stages but United stood firm to claim all three points.
